1.5-Hour Open Range Ranch Horseback Ride

The Ranch spreads out as far as the senses can go. One’s imagination tends to make it go even farther. Not being able to see anything but miles of green, sweeping pasture, roller coaster hills, mares, foals, and pigs. This land first began as a grant from the King in 1848 known as the “Great Mahele”.

In 1951, the family patriarch, William Pa’akaula Kalawaia’nui, planted new grasses from New Zealand by hand with a one-horse plow.  He started a very successful cattle, horse and hog operation until retiring in 1988.

2.5-Hour Waipio Valley on Horseback

2.5-Hour Waipio Valley on Horseback

For a sense of how Hawaii used to be and an adventure not easily forgotten, you must experience Waipi'o Valley, an enchanting place that means "land of curving water." From the valley lookout, the land drops sharply for nearly 1,000 feet. Below is an emerald landscape as fresh and verdant as Eden. A brooding sense of Waipi'o's rich historic past emanates from the valley, which is still, except for the pounding of steep waves on the black sand beach and the timeless motion of farmers tending their taro patches.
